#POS12. Puppets Occupy Street – Fairy Tale Edition, a week full of fairy tales in the heart of Craiova!
Puppets Occupy Street, the festival that put Craiova on the world map of animation theatre, starts in a few days, between August 25 and September 1, and promises new story experiences, in an atmosphere full of magic, as it has accustomed us to in the last 11 editions.
Italy, the Netherlands, Bulgaria, Argentina, France, Serbia, Belgium, the Republic of Moldova, Estonia, Spain, Brazil, Turkey or Mexico will be represented in Craiova by theatre troupes that will illustrate this universe of animation theatre as they know best. Of course, the entire program, extremely rich and offering, also includes troupes and artists from Romania. The audience will not only be able to enjoy theatre, but also workshops, exhibitions and all kinds of happenings that will take the entire city by surprise.
All of Craiova thus becomes a huge stage for the dozens of events that will take place in all its areas, regardless of whether we are talking about neighbourhoods or the central area. "Mihai Viteazul" Square, "Frații Buzești" Square, "William Shakespeare" Square, the Rovine and Craiovița Nouă neighbourhoods, the Museum of the Romanian Book and Exile, Alliance Francaise, "Nicolae Romanescu" Park, Electroputere Mall, "Colibri" Theatre, "Alexandru and Aristia Aman" Art Museum and Library are just a few of the locations where the performances will take place, and the full program can be consulted at the address below:
Social involvement for a more united community
The festival has, this year too, a humanitarian aspect that is worth mentioning. The "Cornul Abundentei" bookstores continue this year, as part of the festival, the humanitarian campaign "I also want to learn". Therefore, between August 25 and September 5, between 10:00 and 21:00, at the "Colibri" Children and Youth Theater, Craiova residents can donate backpacks and pencil cases in good condition, for children from low-income backgrounds who want to go to school, but who do not have the necessary things.
Let's occupy the street together with the puppets, in our fairy-tale Craiova!
