About

Located in the heart of Craiova, Mihai Viteazul Square gives the opportunity to admire some of the most emblematic buildings in the city.
You can admire the Palace of the Prefecture (built in 1930 in Newromanian style) and the former Palace Hotel, built at the beginning of the 20th century according to the plans of the architect Otto Hesselmann. The edifice, which has hosted over time the National Tourist Office, the CEC or the Romanian Commercial Bank, is currently one of the administrative headquarters of the Craiova City Hall. You can also admire the building of the Palace hosting the Museum of Nature (Ramuri Palace built in 1920).
Also, in this square, you can watch the artesian fountains, as well as the statue of Michael the Brave.
