The year is starting to take shape, and planning a vacation in advance becomes even more interesting as, at this moment, we have over 20 vacation destinations available at Craiova International Airport. With the largest regional airport terminal in Romania opened at the end of 2025, the airport serving Craiova, Dolj, the entire Oltenia region and regions in Bulgaria and Serbia, the entire passenger pool now has more opportunities for study, knowledge, work and vacations.
Craiova International Airport, which reached a historic passenger record in January of this year – 48,949 passengers, 65% more than the same period last year – offers those who wish to travel a destination offer that brings together over 20 routes, both regular and charter flights.
The destinations you can fly to regularly are the following: Birmingham, London, Brussels, Dortmund, Memmingen, Paris, Bergamo, Bologna, Naples, Rome, Bari, Venice (from May 2026), Madrid, Barcelona (from March 2026), Athens and Istanbul. Of course, from the aforementioned airports, and especially from the Istanbul airport, you can create flight connections to other destinations available globally.
Regarding charter flights, you should know that they are available to Antalya, Heraklion, Rhodes, Monastir, Hurghada, Palma de Mallorca and Larnaca. Being available during the warm season, they are operated, according to the current schedule, on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.
Craiova International Airport thus continues to consolidate its important position in the family of Romanian airports. For Craiova, for the entire Dolj County, but also for the entire Oltenia region, such a hub is more than necessary, and helps economic development, also emphasizing multiculturalism and knowledge, contributing to social development.
