Traditional Music Festival, for the first time in Brabova

Dolj County Council is organizing, for the first time, the Brabova Traditional Music Festival, which aims not only to promote the traditional music and musical culture that our country has, but also to highlight the non-urban areas of Dolj County. Thus, the focus will be shifted on June 20 and 21, 2025 to the Izvoranu-Geblescu Tower, rehabilitated at the initiative of the Dolj County Council and transformed into a section of the Oltenia Museum.
Traditional music is our soul and roots, and this weekend, in Dolj, it’s all about that. On Friday and Saturday, between 6:00 PM and 11:00 PM, the surroundings of Cula Izvoranu-Geblescu in Brabova commune will resonate with authentic Romanian music, thanks to the effort of the Dolj County Council to intensively promote the magnificent areas of our county. Visitor access will be free, both to the tower and to the festival.
On the first day, Friday, we will enjoy the presence of the following artists: Constantin and Cosmin Gaciu & "Iancu Jianu" Orchestra, Ionel Tudorache and The Orchestra, Fănică Popescu and The Orchestra, Daniel Vivaldi and The Gorj Orchestra, Maria Rotaru and The "Oltenian Voices" Group, Alexandru Lilea, Luiza Turcu and Alessia Vînturici. And to keep the atmosphere at the same level, for Saturday, Gelu Voicu and "Lăutarii din Teleorman" Orchestra, Loredana Streche, Emil Streață and The Orchestra, Taraful Domnesc, Larisa Cârlugea, Maria Rotaru, Alessia Vînturici and Alexandru Golfin have prepared many musical surprises for us. The event will also be attended by the "Maria Tănase" Folk Dance Ensemble of the "Cornetti" Folk School of Arts and Crafts within the Dolj County Center for Culture and Art, and the host of the two evenings will be Mihai Mitoșeru.
Take advantage of this opportunity to get to know our places better, both by visiting the Izvoranu-Geblescu Tower and by listening, at its shelter, to the music that our ancestors left us as a legacy. Because we are talking about heritage, which is also intangible, we are waiting for you to carry forward, through experience and words, what is most beautiful about our places, about our Dolj.
The event is organized by the Dolj County Council, under the slogan of the tourist Dolj, "DOLJ - More than you can imagine". This weekend, all roads lead to Brabova!
