The warm season officially starts today, with the summer solstice, and we can start the fun and events that will make this period a perfect one!
Here is what the institutions and event organizers have prepared for you for the coming months:
IntenCity Festival
The second edition of the IntenCity Festival in Craiova (June 30 - July 2) brings, this year, three renowned headliners to the public in three different evenings. Enrique Iglesias, Godz Of Rock and DJ Tiesto are the most anticipated names on the festival stage, which will be complemented by other famous artists, whether national or international. This year, IntenCity means two stages, both on the "Ion Oblemenco" Stadium and inside the Polyvalent Hall.

Festival of Traditions and Customs "Traditions of Summer"
The Dolj County Center for the Conservation and Promotion of Traditional Culture, together with the Dolj County Council, invites you to get to know the most beautiful summer customs in our area! The Festival of Traditions and Customs "Traditions of Summer" will take place on July 22 and will be in its 11th edition, at the Summer Theater in the "Nicolae Romanescu" Park. Folkloric ensembles will bring on stage customs specific to the summer season, which we find in the village world: Sânzienele or Drăgaica, Paparudele, a custom of a bride, The Mother of Rain or the First Bread, customs with a special symbolism, in which are gathered the beliefs of the householder that they bring blessing to earth and life.
International Sculpture Symposium "Drumuri Brâncușiene"
The 11th edition of the "Drumuri Brâncușiene" International Sculpture Symposium will start on July 24 and last until September 1. Thus, for over a month, the participating sculptors will create their works, with this year's theme, "Independence Day", in the Youth Park in Craiova. The curious can go to see them at work and learn more about this carving process. The works resulting from the Symposium will remain in the city, to decorate the urban space.
Festival of Light
Organized by the Scouts of Romania Craiova, the Light Festival will be, for the sixth time, a space for artistic expression for young talents, with interactive workshops, acoustic music sessions, improvisation shows, fire juggling, and many other surprises. Everything will take place in the "Nicolae Romanescu" Park (The Fanfare Pavilion Area), bringing together ideas, perspectives and people and enlivening the city space, as well as the people in it.
Puppets Occupy Street – Fantasy Edition
The tenth edition of the festival that put Craiova on the map of world animation theatre returns this year. In the already traditional period, August 25 - September 1, our city will once again turn into a huge stage, for the international theatre troupes that will come here to charm young and old alike. Creative workshops, concerts, plays or the giant puppet parade are just some of the ingredients of a successful festival, which we can't wait for!
