Elena Teodorini, the great lady of Romanian opera, honored every year in Craiova

The great opera singer, Elena Teodorini from Craiova, who is also the first singer from Romania to take the stage of the Scala Theater in Milan, is a symbol of Craiova and will continue to remain so for a very long time to come.

The last diva of the 19th century and the first diva of Romania therefore has a special place in the hearts of the people of Craiova, especially since here, every year, her immense cultural heritage is brought back to the public through the work of the Romanian Opera Craiova, spiritually patronized by the immense cultural personality.
Elena Teodorini

Prestigious institution in the country and outside the borders, the Romanian Opera Craiova has, in progress, right now, the 18th edition of the "Elena Teodorini" International Festival, a joy of music, acting, dance and of hundreds of years old art: the opera, which beyond what it means, according to the dictionary, is itself of such great complexity that it becomes harmony in all that it embodies.

With the first edition held in 1992, the festival continues today to bring together important artists who come to Craiova and give life to the most beautiful stories in world opera. The entire history of the festival can be consulted here:
