The Easter Fair Begins! A Month of Fairytales in the “Romanescu” Park
The Easter Fair in Craiova begins this Friday, April 3, and for a month, until May 3, Craiova residents and our visitors will be able to enjoy the universe created especially for them – Fairytale - in the incomparable “Nicolae Romanescu” Park.
Tens of thousands of tulips, magical and colorful houses, fairy-tale scenes, projections on the lake and spectacular lights are just some of the joys you will find in the emblematic park of Craiova. Also, characters on stilts, giant puppets, children dressed as fairy-tale characters, visual performances and local or national artists will be welcome at the Easter Fair. The “Romanescu” Park will also reveal other key points that will be the center of attention: the Foișorului Area, the Bibescu House or the Enchanted Castle, plus the Velodrome, from where hot air balloon flights will be organized. Of course, children will enjoy this multisensory experience the most, through carousels, creative workshops and, in general, through the entire way the park looks on this occasion.
Party Bus and Easter Train
Visitors of the fair will be able to ride, again this year, with the Easter Train, but also with the Party Bus, and with their help they will be able to tour the most beautiful tourist attractions in Craiova. The train will depart every day, from 2:00 PM, from the station near the entrance to Romanescu Park (the owl station), and the Party Bus will depart every day, from 5:00 PM, from Promenada Mall Craiova.
The food stalls and recreational areas within the fair will be open daily, between 10:00 AM and 10:00 PM, and the park will be open until midnight, so that everyone who wishes can enjoy the nighttime visual spectacle.
Rock on Easter, on April 12 and 13
On the first and second day of Easter, a mega-concert will take place in the park, bringing together bands that have made history in Romanian rock. Compact, Iris, Timpuri Noi, Antract and many others will gather under the aegis of the "Petre Magdin" Festival, the one nicknamed "the minister of Romanian rock" and the one that brought us "Întâlnirea de la miezul nopții" to our homes.
