Dolj county has, since last week, a tourism strategy to highlight its beauty. 

The strategy has over 400 pages and encompasses all types of tourism, from gastronomic to ecumenical. The county authorities, who financed the development of this strategy, want to implement 200 projects and actions that will support the development of this sector in all essential thematic areas: from historical and cultural tourism to nature and adventure (ecotourism, rural tourism, cycling tourism), gastronomy and oenology, business and event tourism, as well as sports tourism. 

 Also, also within this effort, the visual identity of Dolj as a tourist destination was defined and the promotion policy was established. 

"Today we are participating in a premiere - the launch of the Dolj County Tourism Strategy, a document that we created with the help of European funds. We have beautiful places, we have a municipality where we can meet spectacular things - from the sumptuous buildings and the Historical Center, to the cultural life of Craiova or the sports phenomenon. We can boast that, in the south of the county, the Danube runs through Dolj for a length of 150 kilometers, and in the north we have the fortificated buildings, which we restored also through non-refundable financing. 

I'm glad that representatives of the hospitality industry, sports clubs, tourism agencies and cultural institutions from the county are participating in this launch, because we all have to work together to bring to light all that we have that is most beautiful", stated the president of the County Council Dolj, Cosmin Vasile, during the event. 

In addition to the local and county authorities, representatives of cultural institutions, non-governmental organizations or from the HoReCa or religious environment, at the event "appeared", through testimonials, oltenians such as Mihai Bobonete, Andrei Păunescu, Irinel Popescu, Gică Craioveanu, chefs Andrei Voica and Ciprian Ogarcă, Romică Țociu or Cătălin Măruță, who showed all their support for the county and for its new brand, impressive in its simplicity and slogan: "Dolj - More than you imagine". 

We really like the logo in all its variations and we have to admit that the promotional videos also won us over from the first watch. And the slogan is exactly what we hear from the people who come to Craiova and Dolj and always tell us: "It's more than we thought about!".
