Calendar of traditional events

The village life in the Oltenia region is very rich in local customs and traditions. The people here are very superstitious. The oltenians are known for using, in their speech, a special form of the Romanian ”past tense”, for expressing actions which happened in the recent past - a form generally used by writers in literature books or fairy tales.
Here one can find customs for every season of the year.
