The ensemble comprises: The mansion, built 1695-1705, modified in sec. XIX and "St. Voievozi ", built in 1774, modified in 1894.
The Brăiloiu Mansion, built by Cornea Brăiloiu between 1695 and 1705, a historical and architectural monument of great value. In this building was the Melineşti Drilling Frame, and the legend says that under this manor would be a tunnel, but no one knows where it is going. It is also said to reach directly under one of the 13 churches in the area. The building, which was built with bricks carried hand by hand from Bradesti, is to be taught now to an heir.

The ensemble contains: Cotofeni House, Church "The Assumption ", Neo-Romanesque Mansion, Neoclassical House, Park, Old School.
From a historical point of view, the Assembly of the Cotofeni Court and the Cotofeni House dates back to the mid-eighteenth century, being included on the list of historical monuments in 2004. The architecture of the building reminds of how imposing the manor was in the old days. The thick brick walls can be seen. In the 1930s, Queen Mary of Romania was a guest in these houses.
The ensemble located on the Jiu cliff is an example of a residential architecture in Wallachia, remarkable for its architecture, for the two hundred years of uninterrupted living and for the way in which generations in turn thought it should enrich it, on the way it was preserved in the period up to the Second World War.
At the end of the 19th century, the estate was divided between the two daughters of the family, and next to the old house a new house was built, in a neo-Romanian style. The house must have been ready in 1906, the year when landscape architects E. Redont and E. Pinard are hired to design the Coţofeni Court Park.
The image and state of the buildings were excellent, as they confess, for example, the photographs taken during the Queen Mary visit of the 1930s.
In 1949 or 1951, the courtyard was owned by the Agrarian Institute in Craiova, then a military unit, to remain in today's "custody" of the local administration.
A restoration project initiated by the Ministry of Culture in 1998 was not overcome by the lack of funds. Even so, in the bad state they are in, the court has impressed those who have seen it recently.
In the 1970s, the most important scenes in the film Tanase Scatiu directed by Dan Pita were filmed here.
The Cotofeni Manor House was at the time a well-structured building complex. From the top of the hill would have watched the area as a nest of eagles far away, to Craiova.

Founded in 1992 as a successor of the great "Nicolae Balcescu" Ensemble in Craiova, with the purpose of giving a scenic expression of the diversity of the Oltenian folklore and, at the same time, the folklore from all folk areas of Romania, the "Maria Tanase" Folk Ensemble built its reputation over the years and achieved success both in the country and abroad.
Displaying on stage the traditional dances with the utmost care and consistently promoting authentic folk songs turned the Maria Tanase Folk Ensemble into one of the most representative and valuable ensembles in Romania.
The choreography was assumed by master Marian Badea, master Puiu Vasilescu and then by the choreographer Marin Stîrcu, whose experience was continued by the talented master of dance,
Ionel Garoafa, who leads with great professionalism the ballet department made of 22 dancers .
The musical leadership was assured for 25 years by the famous violinist and conductor, Nicu Cretu, who originally made the musical arrangement for the orchestra composed of the 13 instrumentalists. The 13 soloists of the ensemble performing along with the orchestra:

The special protection area Maglavit is located in Dolj county, within the towns of Cetate, Maglavit and Calafat.
The area is 3562.6 ha.
The hydrographic network is represented by a Danube river sector, the lakes: Basarabi, Golenti, Maglavit, Hunia, Moreni and Fântâna Banului, along with several temporary lakes and marshy areas.
These lakes are natural, developed in the low slopes of the meadow, having a large surface and a small depth, being used for irrigation and pisciculture. Their connection with the Danube is still preserved, the water supply being made directly from the river.
The Special Protection Area Maglavit partially overlaps with the protected nature area of the Danube at Garla Mare-Maglavit, including the nature reserve Pajiştea Cetate.
It was declared as an Avifaunistic Special Protection Area by the Government Decision no. 1284/2007 for the conservation of 36 bird species. The location of the Special Protection Area Maglavit on a very important migration route linking the Pannonian Plain and the Balkan Peninsula - Bulgaria - Bosphorus, explains the great number of species that can be seen in this area during the spring and autumn passages. The most significant ones are the bully, the small cormorant, the small egret and the night bird. Extensive in terms of species diversity is the passage of ducks and shore birds, from which many species can be observed.
